Cheap Laptops To Suit Your Budget
Computer gaming has become a newfound love among a lot of youngsters these days who prefer nothing more than sitting on their computers with their favorite games on. With laptops slowly replacing PCs as standard computers, even gamers want laptops instead of their old PCs. The main reason being that laptops have many comfortable features, the primary being the mobility they provide. A gamer can play games as he travels in his car, which is not possible with a PC. The one difficulty in buying a gaming laptop is the price tag. Good laptops today don't come cheaply. But for gamers, there's another way out. By compromising on the quality of the components, they can still own a laptop that supports their games, but the laptop would not stand against a demanding game when it comes to performance. With that constraint, it is not a tough job to sketch the specifications of a gaming laptop, a cheap gaming laptop.
As with all gaming laptops, there are three main considerations to be kept in mind, graphics card, RAM and processor speed. Graphics card is necessary to support the graphics included in the game, RAM determines the amount of graphics the system can handle and processor speed determines the performance i.e. the speed of the game.
First, a relatively ordinary graphics card should be good enough to support most of the games played by today's gaming community. In fact, some of the games can be played with the built-in graphics card that comes along with the system itself. Only games that involve high-end graphics need the support of an external graphics card. For those people on a budget, a good choice would be to go for the NVIDIA GeForce 2 or the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800. Both these graphics cards provide excellent gaming support besides the fact that they are relatively cheaper compared to other graphics cards. The NVIDIA GeForce 2 is marked at a price of around $60.
Secondly, the amount of RAM needs to be determined. In this case, it is a tougher decision. The reason for this is the fact that there is no standard or ceiling for the amount of RAM a computer can have. A laptop can have a 64MB RAM or a 2GB RAM (which is the maximum RAM as of today). For a good gaming experience at a lower price, it is advisable to opt for a 512MB RAM. A 512MB RAM provides the necessary support for the graphics cards mentioned above, so most games would be compatible with this configuration. Lastly, the processor speed should be fast enough to compensate for any problems encountered due to the compromise made in the above two components. For this reason, a good option would be to go for a Pentium 4 processor with a 3.66Mhz Hyperthreading technology that supports most games at a very good speed. With this processor, a gamer can have a speedy gaming experience at a reduced price. The three main components for a cheap gaming laptop can be summarized as follows. Graphics Card :NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 or NVIDIA GeForce 2
RAM :512MB
Processor : Intel Pentium 4 3.66MHz HT
